SUMMARY OF BILL: Authorizes one of the Governor’s appointees to the Health Facilities
Commission (HFC) to be chosen from a list of qualified persons submitted by interested groups,
including the Tennessee Center for Assisted Living.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumptions:
• Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 68-11-203(b)(1)(F), the Governor is authorized to appoint
four members to the HFC.
• The proposed legislation does not expand the number of members serving on the HFC.
• Authorizing interested groups to put forth a list of qualified persons will not result in a
significant operational or fiscal impact to the state.
