SUMMARY OF BILL: Reduces the filing deadline for preferred service state employees to
appeal adverse employment actions from 14 to 10 calendar days.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumptions:
• The proposed legislation does not alter how appeals are reviewed or require additional
funding for personnel, infrastructure, or administrative costs within the Department of
Human Resources, as reducing the appeal timeframe does not impact the review process or
necessitate new resources.
• Any impact on the number of appeals will be not significant.
