SUMMARY OF BILL: Urges the Department of Safety (DOS) to study the enforcement of
federal immigration laws, detentions and removals, state investigations, and immigration-related
progress and challenges. Requires, if such study is conducted, DOS to submit a report to the
Governor and the General Assembly on or before January 1, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumption:
• It is assumed that DOS can study the relevant matters and submit a report on their findings
within existing department resources, should the department choose to do so. Any fiscal
impact to the DOS is therefore estimated to be not significant.
