HB 576 FISCAL NOTE Fiscal Review Committee Tennessee General Assembly February 5, 2025 Fiscal Analyst: Natalie Dusek | Email: natalie.dusek@capitol.tn.gov | Phone: 615-532-9941 HB 576 SUMMARY OF BILL: Establishes that bail bond notices may contain different sized fonts and colors so that the substance of the notice is conspicuous and easy to read. FISCAL IMPACT: NOT SIGNIFICANT Assumptions: • Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 40-11-151, any person utilizing the services of a professional bail bondsman or bonding agent must receive a copy of a standardized notice with the person’ bail bond providing the person with information about the process and relevant law. No changes may be made in the substance of the notice, but minor printing adjustments are allowed. • The proposed legislation establishes that such printing adjustments may include changes to font size and color so that the substance of the notice is conspicuous and easy to read. • Professional bail bondsmen and bonding agents are already responsible for printing and distributing such notices, and are therefore responsible for any costs associated with the permitted adjustments. • Any impact from the proposed legislation will be borne by private entities. • There will be no fiscal impact to state or local government.
