Prohibits a medical laboratory from requiring a medical laboratory supervisor to be on laboratory premises. FISCAL IMPACT: NOT SIGNIFICANT Assumptions: • Pursuant to Medical Laboratory Board (MLB) rule 1200-06-01.21(2)(a)(2), a medical laboratory supervisor shall be on the laboratory premises at a minimum of 30 hours per week and be readily available for consultations during all other hours when tests are performed. • Prohibiting a medical laboratory from requiring a medical laboratory supervisor to be on laboratory premises will not impact the number of licensed medical laboratory supervisors in the state. • Any impact to the operations of the MLB or the Department of Health as a result of the proposed legislation is estimated to be not significant.
