A RESOLUTION to honor the members of the 1175
th
 
Transportation Company, Tennessee Army 
National Guard. 
 
 WHEREAS, Tennessee is proudly known as the Volunteer State from our history of 
responding to calls of action in defense of our nation, and the State of Tennessee is privileged 
to be served by the men and women of the Tennessee Army National Guard, who sacrifice their 
time and effort to ensure the well-being of their fellow Americans; and  
WHEREAS, proudly answering the call to service, 125 soldiers of the 1175
th
 
Transportation Company, Tennessee Army National Guard, were deployed to the Southwest 
Border of the United States; and  
WHEREAS, their deployment was in response to Request For Assistance (RFA) 2024 
on Federal Orders, an order to aid and assist the United States Border Patrol by providing 
reconnaissance and reporting abilities to release agents to conduct their principal law 
enforcement duties; and  
WHEREAS, rendering sterling service, the members of the 1175
th
 served in McAllen, 
Texas, under Joint Task Force North from October 2023 to November 2024 and were 
commanded by Captain Everett Miller and 1
st
 Sergeant Cyrus Shores; and  
WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly find it appropriate to pause in their 
deliberations to express their heartfelt thanks to these exemplary and inspirational 
Tennesseans; now, therefore, 
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH 
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF 
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and commend the members of the

 Transportation Company, Tennessee Army National Guard, for their meritorious service 
and salute their selfless commitment to their country and the State of Tennessee. 
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared 
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to 
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear 
without House or Senate designation.
