<BillNo> <Sponsor> SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 78 By Southerland SJR0078 002807 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to congratulate the Greene County Fair and its board, staff, and volunteers upon being named the 2024 Champion of Champions Fair by the Tennessee Association of Fairs. WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pay tribute to those events that promote local business, entertain and educate our citizens, and celebrate the history and culture of the great State of Tennessee; and WHEREAS, the Greene County Fair is one such estimable event, which recently received the most prestigious honor of being named the 2024 Champion of Champions Fair by the Tennessee Association of Fairs; and WHEREAS, among the many county, regional, and state awards that the Tennessee Association of Fairs annually presents, the Champion of Champions accolade is the highest honor possible, and the Greene County Fair previously received this distinction in 1963, 1988, and 2005; and WHEREAS, with the help of the community, volunteers devoted more than 8,000 work hours to plan and execute the fair, which, in addition to hosting 32,000 attendees in 2024, displayed more than 3,000 exhibits and featured woodcarving, quilting, and canning, in addition to beef, dairy, chicken, and sheep shows; and WHEREAS, the Greene County Fair Board President Rick Clark, who has served the fair in numerous capacities since 1999, is to be greatly commended for his hard work and dedication to making the fair the best in its classification; and WHEREAS, the success of the Greene County Fair and its well-earned recognition bring great pride to the people of Greene County, who every year unite with tireless dedication to - 2 - 002807 celebrate and promote local business, agriculture, and history with this time-honored event; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we congratulate the Greene County Fair and its board, staff, and volunteers upon being named the 2024 Champion of Champions Fair by the Tennessee Association of Fairs and extend to them our best wishes for much continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
