A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Rosemary 
McIlhenny to the fish and wildlife commission. 
 
 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 70-1-201, provides for the creation of 
the fish and wildlife commission; and 
 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 70-1-201(a), further provides that the 
governor shall appoint nine (9) members to the commission; and 
 WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Rosemary McIlhenny to serve on the fish 
and wildlife commission as the representative for the 5
th
 district pursuant to Tennessee Code 
Annotated, Section 70-1-204; subject to confirmation, Ms. McIlhenny will serve a term that 
expires on February 28, 2031; and 
 WHEREAS, a native of Avery Island, Louisiana, Rosemary McIlhenny has embraced her 
family's 200-year legacy of stewardship and conservation, a legacy that has shaped her deep 
commitment to preserving natural habitats; and 
 WHEREAS, since moving to Tennessee, Rosemary McIlhenny has joined the board of 
the Land Trust of Tennessee and currently serves as its chair; she is also active with the 
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, particularly with the agency's new hunting programs 
targeted toward new, female hunters and its Heritage Club; and 
 WHEREAS, she serves on the National Board of the Delta Waterfowl Foundation, the 
GWM Foundation, and the Southern Food and Beverage Foundation; and 
 WHEREAS, Ms. McIlhenny is also active with the Cheekwood Botanical Garden, Ducks 
Unlimited, Friends of Warner Park, Montgomery Bell Academy, and the Tennessee Wildlife 
Federation; and

 WHEREAS, Ms. McIlhenny enjoys mentoring first-time hunters and hopes to increase 
awareness of state programs to make outdoor recreation more accessible for all Tennesseans 
and to ensure that future generations will inherit our vibrant natural resources; and 
 WHEREAS, Rosemary McIlhenny is a dedicated conservationist, philanthropist, and 
community leader with a lifelong passion for land and wildlife preservation; and 
 WHEREAS, Ms. McIlhenny's experience and dedication to wildlife and conservation 
issues will be a tremendous asset to the fish and wildlife commission; and 
 WHEREAS, members appointed to the fish and wildlife commission by the governor are 
subject to confirmation by the committee of the house of representatives having jurisdiction over 
such matter and the energy, agriculture and natural resources committee of the senate and by 
joint resolution of the general assembly; now, therefore, 
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH 
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF 
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we confirm the appointment of Rosemary McIlhenny 
to a term on the fish and wildlife commission, such term to expire on February 28, 2031.
