<BillNo> <Sponsor> SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 471 By Pody SJR0471 007830 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor and commend the employees of Nashville International Airport and John C. Tune Airport. WHEREAS, Nashville International Airport (BNA) and John C. Tune Airport (JWN) play an essential role in the vitality of Tennessee, which would not be possible without the dedication and contributions of its employees who invest, plan, and prepare for the future; and WHEREAS, these employees support planning, engineering, operations, maintenance, safety, security, and administration of these airports; and WHEREAS, these employees completed BNA Vision I and II, a $1.5 billion comprehensive growth and expansion plan crucial to addressing Middle Tennessee's booming population and the airport's record-breaking passenger increases, setting the stage for the future; and WHEREAS, these employees embarked on New Horizon I and II, signifying the next chapter in BNA's ongoing $3 billion transformation to expand airside and landside facilities and thus support even more domestic and international travelers; and WHEREAS, these employees serve the needs of regional, corporate, and private aircraft at JWN, rebuilding the south side after the devastating tornadoes of 2020 and expanding the north side and other facilities to support the region's growing needs; and WHEREAS, these projects have resulted in over $360 million in small, minority, and woman-owned business participation; and WHEREAS, these airports are generating over $10 billion in annual economic impact and supporting more than 76,000 jobs in the region; and - 2 - 007830 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly find it appropriate to acknowledge and applaud these employees for their many contributions to the State of Tennessee and its citizens; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and commend the employees of Nashville International Airport and John C. Tune Airport and extend to them our best wishes for every future success and happiness. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
