A RESOLUTION to recognize and congratulate Terrell Carpenter,
2025 Florida A. Collins Delta of the Year.
WHEREAS, it is most fitting that we should acknowledge and applaud those citizens
who, through their extraordinary efforts, have proven themselves leaders of whom we can all be
proud; and
WHEREAS, one such noteworthy individual is Terrell Carpenter of the Memphis
Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., who was recently named the 2025 Florida
A. Collins Delta of the Year, an honor most befitting her continued leadership and commitment
to compassionate service through the organization; and
WHEREAS, each year, the Memphis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,
Inc., recognizes a member who exemplifies the qualities of its illustrious sisterhood, someone
who goes beyond the call of duty to make a significant impact on the community, the chapter,
and the sorority as a whole; and
WHEREAS, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has distinguished itself as an international
public service organization with a five-point programmatic thrust that addresses economic
development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and
mental health, and political awareness and involvement/social action; and
WHEREAS, the Memphis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has
been a stalwart of the Memphis community for more than eight decades, engaging in public
service through collaboration and partnership with individuals and organizations that align with
the chapter's purpose; and

WHEREAS, Terrell Carpenter embodies the legacy of the Memphis Alumnae Chapter,
upholding the worthy tenets of "Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service, and Social Action" and
proving herself an invaluable asset to her sisters and her community; and
WHEREAS, it is our privilege to recognize Ms. Carpenter for her many accomplishments
and devoted service to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as well as her most recent, most
deserved, honor; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we recognize and congratulate
Terrell Carpenter upon being named the 2025 Florida A. Collins Delta of the Year by the
Memphis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., extending to her our best
wishes for much continued success in all her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy.
