<BillNo> <Sponsor> SENATE RESOLUTION 27 By Lamar SR0027 003939 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor Judith Clerjeune in celebration of Women's Day on the Hill. WHEREAS, Women's Day on the Hill is a time to honor the achievements of those Tennessee women who have paved the way for every person to have the opportunity to pursue the American dream; and WHEREAS, the Volunteer State is proud to be the home of the awe-inspiring Judith Clerjeune, who serves as the Advocacy Director for the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) and TIRRC Votes, leading the organization's policy priorities and campaign initiatives and working closely with organizers to advance strategic campaigns at national, state, and local levels that directly impact TIRRC's membership and immigrant communities; and WHEREAS, before joining TIRRC, Ms. Clerjeune worked at the Healing Trust Foundation and the Jean Crowe Advocacy Center and as a domestic violence specialist at the YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee; and WHEREAS, she has further served her community as a member of the steering committee of Healthy and Free Tennessee; and WHEREAS, in saluting Ms. Clerjeune on this special occasion, let us remember that when women succeed, America succeeds, as does Tennessee; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we hereby honor and commend Judith Clerjeune on her many contributions to the State of Tennessee as we celebrate Women's Day on the Hill. - 2 - 003939 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy.
