A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the qualifications to conduct a social study in certain
suits affecting the parent-child relationship.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 107.0511, Family Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
(g) The minimum qualifications prescribed by this section
do not apply to an individual who, before September 1, 2007:
(1) had at least five years of experience as a social
study evaluator; and
(2) conducted at least 100 social studies.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
