O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1204 by Hartnett (Relating to the use of a judge's staff and office equipment to prepare a response to certain complaints or allegations or to provide certain information.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the use of a judge's staff and office equipment to prepare a response to certain complaints or allegations or to provide information. The bill would authorize judges to use office equipment and staff to prepare responses to the State Commission on Judicial Conduct. To the extent the bill would amend court procedure pertaining to the use of equipment and staff, the rules change is not anticipated to increase the workload of the courts. The bill would take effect immediately upon two-thirds vote of all members elected to both houses or September 1, 2009.
