A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the fee for issuance of specialty license plates to
certain wounded peace officers and to the families of certain peace
officers killed in the line of duty.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 504.407(c), Transportation Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(c) A person applying for a set of license plates under this
section shall pay the registration fee required under Chapter 502,
except that one set of license plates shall be issued without
payment of the registration fee. The fee for issuance of the
license plates is $3 [$20].
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
to a registration period beginning on or after the effective date of
this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
