A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the fee for issuance of specialty license plates to
certain wounded peace officers and to the families of certain peace
officers killed in the line of duty.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 504.407, Transportation Code, is amended
by amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (c-1) to read as
follows:
(c) Except as provided by Subsection (c-1), the [The] fee
for issuance of the license plates is $20.
(c-1) The fee for issuance of a set of the license plates to
a person described by Subsection (a)(2) is $3.
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
to a registration period beginning on or after the effective date of
this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
