The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code relating to certain civil actions against persons who file complaints with governmental agencies or quasi-governmental entities. The bill would create a new civil cause of action against persons who file complaints with governmental agencies. To the extent the bill would amend civil procedures, no significant increase in judicial workloads or fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
