                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 4, 2009      TO: Honorable Troy Fraser, Chair, Senate Committee on Business & Commerce      FROM: John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1758 by Thompson (Relating to the requirements for a plumber's apprentice to obtain a plumber's license.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Occupations Code to add requirements for applicants to obtain a plumbing tradesman or journeyman license to include the completion of classroom training hours.  The bill would require that the instructor and training program be approved by the Board of Plumbing Examiners.     Based on the analysis of the Boad of Plumbing Examiners, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
