LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION April 29, 2009 TO: Honorable Frank Corte Jr., Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs FROM: John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:HB2056 by Gallego (relating to granting certain local governments general zoning authority around certain military facilities; providing a penalty.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would authorize certain local governments to regulate development in zones around certain military facilities, and would provide for a penalty for a violation of those regulations. Based on the applicability criteria within the bill, it appears it would affect only Val Verde County. Local Government Impact Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
