The bill would amend section 192.008(a) of the Health and Safety Code relating to the information provided on supplementary birth certificates. The bill would no longer require that adoptive parents listed on the certificate be a male and a female. It is assumed that any cost with implementing the bill can be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
