(Gallegos) Intergovernmental Relations 5/14/2009 Committee Report (Substituted) AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT C.S.H.B. 2113 grants fire fighters and police officers a paid holiday from work on September 11 of each year. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 142.0013(c), Local Government Code, to require a fire fighter and a police officer to be granted the same number of vacation days and holidays, or days in lieu of vacation days or holidays, granted to other municipal employees, at least one of which is required to be designated as September 11th.
