O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:HB2130 by Rios Ybarra (Relating to the assistance of the Texas Rangers in the investigation of certain sex offenses.), As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to allow the attorney representing the state to request that the Texas Rangers assist local law enforcement with certain offenses alleged to have been committed by an elected officer of the political subdivision. If it does not receive the two-thirds vote necessary for immediate effect, the bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
