Amends Section 158.035, Local Government Code, by adding Subsection (d), as follows: (d) Authorizes the sheriff's department civil service commission (commission), in rendering a final decision regarding a disciplinary action by the sheriff's department, to only sustain, overturn, or reduce the disciplinary action. Prohibits the commission from enhancing a disciplinary action by the sheriff's department. SECTION 2. Makes application of this Act prospective. SECTION 3. Effective date: September 1, 2009.
