The bill creates an adult diabetes education program in certain county hospital systems and hospital districts, and provides that the Department of State Health Services may assist hospital districts and county hospital systems in providing this program. It is assumed that any costs associated with assisting the hospital districts and county hospital systems can be absorbed within existing agency resources. Local Government Impact It is assumed that a hospital district or a county hospital system would provide an adult diabetes education program only if the funds are available, and that available funding would be sufficient to meet the program requirements.
