Kolkhorst, Chair, House Committee on Public Health      FROM: John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2221 by Farrar (Relating to providing information and other services relating to emergency contraception to sexual assault survivors.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill requires the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to develop a standard information form for sexual assault survivors that includes information regarding emergency contraception. Health care facilities would be required to provide sexual assault survivors arriving at the facility for emergency care following an alleged sexual assault with the form developed by DSHS. DSHS indicates any cost to develop and provide the form can be absorbed within existing resources.
