The bill would amend statute and create a task force to research and identify the conflicts and deficiencies in current law regarding the regulation of subdivision development in the unincorporated areas of counties near the international border and in economically distressed counties. This task force must develop recommendations and draft a proposal for legislation to create uniform standards for subdivision regulation in these areas. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) would provide administrative support to the task force, including necessary staff and meeting facilities. The OAG indicates that any additional work or costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed with current resources.
