The bill would amend statute and create a task force to research and identify the conflicts and deficiencies in current law regarding the regulation of subdivision development in the unincorporated areas of counties near the international border and in economically distressed counties. The task force must develop recommendations and draft a proposal for legislation to create uniform standards for subdivision regulation in these areas. The Texas Water Development Board would provide administrative support to the task force, including necessary staff and meeting facilities. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
