O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2424 by Morrison (relating to exempting Lamar State College--Orange and Lamar State College--Port Author from certain requirements relating to student admissions.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would exempt Lamar State College-Orange and Lamar State College-Port Arthur from requirements under Section 51.805 of the Education Code, including the provision that an applicant for admission to a general academic teaching institution complete the recommended or advanced high school curriculum, provided those institutions continue to operate as two-year lower division institutions. The impact to the state would not be significant. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
