O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2780 by Keffer (Relating to energy aggregation by political subdivisions.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize the governing body of a political subdivision to adopt an ordinance or resolution that provides for automatic enrollment in energy aggregation services for citizens of the political subdivision and enrollment in aggregation services on request by citizens of unincorporated areas residing within 20 miles of the geographic boundaries of the political subdivision. The bill would establish related requirements for the political subdivision if it enrolls in aggregation services, including sending written notice to the citizens concerning the enrollment. Political subdivisions would be allowed to recover actual administrative costs. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
