O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2983 by Phillips (Relating to the electronic transmission of motor vehicle rental information in connection with the payment of tolls.), As Passed 2nd House    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Transportation Code to allow lessors of motor vehicles to submit certain electronic information on lessees to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and local tolling entities for the purpose of collecting tolls or the prosecution of an offense for the nonpayment of a toll. Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the state.
