O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3068 by Bohac (Relating to the manner in which certain state officials request and receive notice of the residence of certain sex offenders.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require that the Department of Public Safety (DPS) maintain an electronic mail report service for legislators, from which they may receive residential information for certain sex offenders by zip code.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.  DPS indicates that any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
