The bill would require parties entitled to possession of or access to a child in suits affecting the parent-child relationship to disclose to the Court whether an extended family member must register as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Code of Criminal Procedure. The Office of Court Administration and the Department of Family and Protective Services indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
