O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3524 by Maldonado (Relating to the use of recycled glass in aggregate used by the Texas Department of Transportation.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to use or enter into a contract to use at least 10,000 cubic yards per year of glass cullet gathered in Texas as a replacement for aggregate material. The provisions of the bill would apply to a year beginning on or after January 1, 2010. Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existin resources.
