A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the authority of a county clerk to electronically send
certain financial statement forms.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 159.005(b), Local Government Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(b) The county clerk shall mail or, at the request of the
person required to file under this subchapter send by electronic
mail, two copies of the form to each person required to file under
this subchapter within the time prescribed by Section 572.030(c),
Government Code.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
