A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the approval of a biologist for a permit to trap,
transport, and process deer.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 43, Parks and Wildlife
Code, is amended by adding Section 43.06125 to read as follows:
Sec. 43.06125. BIOLOGIST'S APPROVAL FOR TRAP, TRANSPORT,
AND PROCESS PERMIT. The commission shall adopt rules providing
that a single approval by a biologist regarding the healthy medical
condition of a group of deer covered by a trap, transport, and
process permit remains in effect for that group of deer until:
(1) the trap, transport, and process permit expires;
or
(2) all deer covered by the permit have been
processed.
SECTION 2. The Parks and Wildlife Commission shall adopt
rules under Section 43.06125, Parks and Wildlife Code, as added by
this Act, not later than January 1, 2010.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
