The bill would extend the delay to September 1, 2015 that the executive director of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) can grant for compliance with the requirements for door restrictors or firefighter's service in the ASME Code for elevator safety standards. TDLR would be required to adopt rules to implement the provisions of the bill. TDLR anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
