The bill would allow political subdivisions with less than 5,000 in population to not have to meet certain accessibility requirements for voting equipment. The bill would be effective September 1, 2009. Local Government Impact Small political subdivisions that do not own voting equipment that meets accessibility requirements would not have to rent equipment, and purchase supplies which could result in a savings depending on the number of elections held annually.
