 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the per diem for members of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage
 Commission.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1. Section 5.08, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is
 amended to read as follows:
 Sec. 5.08. PER DIEM, EXPENSES. Members of the commission
 receive per diem as provided by the General Appropriations Act [of
 $10 a day,] for not more than 60 days a year, plus actual expenses,
 while attending commission meetings or otherwise engaged in the
 performance of their duties.
 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
