This bill would amend the Tax Code and require the Comptroller to include a warning statement on each application for a permit or license issued by the agency that other permits or licenses could be required by state agencies and local governments of the applicant. It is assumed that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources. This bill would take effect immediately upon enactment, assuming that it received the requisite two-thirds majority votes in both houses of the Legislature. Otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2009. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
