The bill amends Subchapter F, Chapter 574, Health and Safety Code by adding Section 574.089 requiring a facility administrator of a mental health facility, in conjunction with the local mental health authority, to create a transportation plan for a person scheduled to be furloughed or discharged from the facility. It is assumed that any costs associated with the new requirement can be absorbed within existing Department of State Health Services resources. The bill takes effect September 1, 2009. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
