The bill also provides guidelines for the transmission and maintenance of the electronic records. This bill takes effect immediately if two-thirds of the members in both the House of Representatives and the Senate vote to approve this bill. If not, the bill takes effect on September 1, 2009. Methodology DPS states the bill would require the agency to contract with a vendor for program implementation including installation services and a network deployment license, and program maintenance which would cost $1,156,168 in fiscal year 2010 to State Highway Fund 6. This analysis also assumes the increased employee workload could be absorbed within DPS' current appropriations.
