O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB4526 by Villarreal (relating to the disclosure of charges for motor vehicle repairs; providing a civil penalty.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code and require motor vehicle repair shops to make certain disclosures to consumers, relating to cost of repair, prior to a car repair shop taking custody of a motor vehicle. The Office of the Attorney General indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.
