RULEMAKING AUTHORITY   This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.   SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS   SECTION 1. Amends Chapter 607, Government Code, by adding Subchapter C, as follows:   SUBCHAPTER C. OTHER DISEASES OR ILLNESSES SUFFERED BY FIREFIGHTERS AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS   Sec. 607.101. DEFINITIONS. Defines "emergency medical technician" and "firefighter" in this subchapter.   Sec. 607.102. NOTIFICATION. Entitles a firefighter or emergency medical technician who is exposed to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus to receive notification of the exposure in the manner prescribed by Section 81.048 (Notification of Emergency Personnel, Peace Officers, Detention Officers, County Jailers, and Fire Fighters), Health and Safety Code.   SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2009

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1. Amends Chapter 607, Government Code, by adding Subchapter C, as follows:

 

SUBCHAPTER C. OTHER DISEASES OR ILLNESSES SUFFERED BY FIREFIGHTERS AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS

 

Sec. 607.101. DEFINITIONS. Defines "emergency medical technician" and "firefighter" in this subchapter.

 

Sec. 607.102. NOTIFICATION. Entitles a firefighter or emergency medical technician who is exposed to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus to receive notification of the exposure in the manner prescribed by Section 81.048 (Notification of Emergency Personnel, Peace Officers, Detention Officers, County Jailers, and Fire Fighters), Health and Safety Code.
