H.B. 4783 repeals Section 1030.053, Special District Local Laws Code, requiring a person who wants to have the person's name printed on the ballot as a candidate for a director to file with the board secretary a petition requesting that action. EFFECTIVE DATE On passage, or, if the act does not receive the necessary vote, the act takes effect September 1, 2009.
