O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB586 by Naishtat (Relating to the evidence required for the release of a motor vehicle after impoundment of the vehicle for failure to maintain evidence of financial responsibility.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Transportation Code, Section 601.262 to require evidence of financial responsibility to cover the six-month period immediately following the date the defendant of an impound motor vehicle applies for the release of that vehicle. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2009. The Department of Public Safety anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the agency.
