Under provisions of the bill, Midwestern State University may charge an intercollegiate athletics fee in an amount not to exceed the lesser of $10 per semester credit hour or $120 for each regular semester or each summer session of more than six weeks or $60 for each summer session of six weeks or less. The University estimates the maximum revenue that could be generated under the bill would be $1.2 million. The University estimates that if the fee begins in the spring of 2010 at a rate of $5 per semester credit hour and does not increase more than 10 percent annually, 2010 revenue would be approximately $694,691 and 2011 revenue would be $760,731. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
