O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB603 by Farabee (Relating to an intercollegiate athletics fee at Midwestern State University.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  Under provisions of the bill, Midwestern State University may charge an intercollegiate athletics fee in an amount not to exceed the lesser of $10 per semester credit hour or $120 for each regular semester or each summer session of more than six weeks or $60 for each summer session of six weeks or less. The University estimates the maximum revenue that could be generated under the bill would be $1.2 million. The University estimates that if the fee begins in the spring of 2010 at a rate of $5 per semester credit hour and does not increase more than 10 percent annually, 2010 revenue would be approximately $694,691 and 2011 revenue would be $760,731. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
