O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB643 by Zerwas (Relating to the qualifications of surgical technologists; providing penalties.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code by adding a chapter that would specify qualifications for surgical technologists at health facilities that are licensed by the Department of State Health Services or owned or operated by the state. The agency indicates that adoption of rules would be necessary to implement the provisions of the bill but costs could be absorbed within existing resources.
