The bill would amend the Government Code to require that the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) prosecute criminal and civil offenses involving campaign finance committed in connection with an election for holding state office or an election for a constitutional amendment. The OAG anticipates any legal work resulting from the passage of this bill could be reasonably absorbed with current agency resources.
