A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the labeling of products that contain bisphenol-A.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 501, Health and Safety
Code, is amended by adding Section 501.0236 to read as follows:
Sec. 501.0236. LABELING OF PRODUCTS CONTAINING
BISPHENOL-A. A product containing bisphenol-A shall be
conspicuously labeled with the warning "This product contains
bisphenol-A, a chemical that has been shown to be a developmental,
neural, and reproductive toxicant."
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
