The bill would create as a Class C misdemeanor offense the act of selling salvia divinorum or a product containing salvia divinorum to a person younger than 18 years of age or to a person who intends to deliver it to a person younger than 18 years of age. A Class C misdemeanor is punishable by a fine not to exceed $500. Costs associated with enforcement would be absorbed within existing resources. Revenue gains would vary depending on how many such offenses occur and how much fine is imposed. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
