The bill would amend the Education Code to authorize school districts within 60 miles of the Texas-Mexico border to place fiber optic cable in a county right-of-way as long as the school district coordinates with the county and does not interfere with the property or facilities of the county or of a utility using the right-of-way. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
